Walkover Survey Surveys

A walkover survey is a basic site survey that highlights potential ecological issues or constraints to development such as the presence of protected species. It is an initial assessment and will not be enough to support a planning application but is useful in identifying areas for further survey.

Survey Methodology
The basic survey entails a walk around the site with a site map. Any areas of ecological interest and signs of protected species will be recorded on the map and a grid reference recorded with a GPS device. A detailed site plan can then be produced to accompany a report outlining the results of the survey.
