Course Structure
Our 2009 course was held at a central location in the country, Witley Court, Worcestershire approximately 10 miles north of Worcester. The course was held over the weekend of the 13th - 15th March 2009. The course location and structure has always received positive feedback from participant on previous courses, particular reference has always been made about the presentation of the course, the roosting opportunities present within the grounds and the fascinating lesser horseshoe roosts.
The weekend began with a get together meal in the prearranged hotel or pub the evening prior to the first full days training. Trainees were placed in one of four groups, with the members of each group being selected to provide a suitable spread of skill and experience.
After dinner the first task was handed out, to be started on the morning of the following day. Following this, but by no means mandatory, was a bat detector walk around the site. A trainer led dawn survey was also arranged.
