Anabat Courses
The spring 2009 course has already been held, information on this course is provided below. If you would like to request information on the autumn 2009 or spring 2010 course when it becomes available, please email us.
Course Structure
This course was held at Margam Abbey Country Park in Neath Port Talbot, South Wales, approximately 10 miles east of Swansea on the 24th-26th April 2009.
This is the perfect location for an Anabat course, during the 2008 course eleven species were recorded on Anabats. Therefore instead of referring to example calls all participants were able to analyse, in real time, a full range of bat species and their different call types.
As with all our courses, we used group scenarios, although given the specialist content and skills required, more formal training was provided. The scenarios used were based on the trainers' experience of using the Anabat system, and aimed to illustrate a variety of situations, which will provided trainees with the skills needed to design, implement, analyse and interpret data obtained from remote recording projects.
Further Details
The cost of the course was £225.00 excluding VAT.
Accommodation and meals were provided on site in a new accommodation block for 2009, the cost of this was £87.00 excluding VAT for both nights.
